Disappointed…again

Posted in Chargers Football with tags , on January 18, 2010 by eternallylost

So disappointed in how the Bolts finished out their season… again.

As easy as it would be to blame a single person, EVERY aspect of the game shares some responsibility for this loss yesterday. That, coupled with overly predictable play calls, blind refs, and just terrible luck sealed our fate. It seems that we worked hard to reinforce the soft Westcoast stereotype for NFL teams on a national stage again.

As much as I tire of the embarrassment of not making it through the playoffs, I don’t tire of us winning our division and getting another chance at the playoffs.

I’m a fan of the San Diego Chargers, not because they win, but because I ALWAYS want them to win.

And I’ll be wanting them to win again next season. Because I’m a fan.

12 Straight Charger Wins

Last night’s Monday Night Football featuring the Chargers vs Raiders game was nothing short of unexpected. Most everyone expected Oakland to roll over and get beaten down by the Bolts. I guess the Raiders didn’t get that memo!

A win is a win, but I wish the Chargers would have played a lot better than they did. They basically gave the Raiders the field in the first hald of the game and gave up some easy touchdowns. This 12th straight win against the Raiders ties the Pats NFL record for the most consecutive wins against the same team.

In the end, Rivers was able to orchestrate a come back and ensure the win for us. Sproles played a bigger part than I expected. LT sat on the sidelines more than I cared to see.

We’ll need to play a whole lot better for Sunday’s home game vs the Ravens to pull off a win. As of today the game isn’t a sellout so the NFL ticket guarantee applies for the local black out of the live broadcast.

I hear there are quite a few family zone tickets still available for like $54. Here’s hoping enough people buy those last seats up so the rest of us po’ folk can enjoy the game.

In any case, I’ll be watching the upcoming game after the fact via my DVR. The wife and I are attending birthing classes all this weekend at Sharp Mary Birch Hospital.
